Kiwi-Pear Smoothie

As most of you know, we are currently in the midst of the craziness of an international move - from Paris and Bangkok. There is so much to do - packing, cleaning, doctor's visits, selling furniture - and it still seems endless! Blogging has sadly (though naturally I suppose) taken a backseat...but this doesn't mean that we haven't been eating well. I've been trying to clean out our fridge and freezer...as reflected in our meals as of late. This smoothie is the perfect example of this, as we had big baskets of pears and kiwis just waiting to be used up. Along with some toast and eggs, this makes the perfect healthy breakfast!

KIWI-PEAR SMOOTHIE
Serves 4

4 kiwis, peeled
1 pear
1 banana
1 1/2 cups low-fat milk or soy milk
1/2 cup pear juice or apple juice
1/2 cup ice cubes
Honey or sugar to taste, optional (I didn't use any)

1. Mix all of the ingredients in a blender. Super simple, healthy and delicious!

  1. Oooh, that looks so tasty! I love anything kiwi&banana, and pear sounds like a great addition :) I bet your move must be craziness! I'll probably move back to Europe later this year, so I can understand a bit of it...

  5. Its a soothing smoothie packed with energy and nutrients and I would like this as the start up for the day. Moving to Bangkok???? I was here a month ago and if you like spicy and sour food, this is the place to be. I enjoyed every bit of the food here, from the restaurants and streets, esp the glutinous rice with fresh mangoes.

Settle down soon and we will keep in touch.

  6. It is impossible to get kiwis in Boston right now. I am so jealous. Good luck with your move!
